It’s Your Day
Close your eyes. Imagine saying, “I do,” in a charming, historic country chapel surrounded by a hundred of your closest family and friends.
Close your eyes again and the image changes. Picture yourself reciting your sacred vows at the foot of the empty cross affirming your love and faith together as a newly joined couple.
Another blink and the scene changes once more. You see you and your handsome groom standing on a grassy hill overlooking a scenic valley, hands grasped together as the officiant pronounces you husband and wife.
If one of these scenes describes your dream ceremony, then a Wedding on the Mountain is perfect for you.
The Setting
The “I DO VENUE” on Laurel Mountain is approximately thirty acres near the tiny Village of Greshville, near Boyertown, Berks County, Pennsylvania. At every turn, the Laurel Mountain Ministries Campus uniquely displays nature’s beauty. From its hilltop vistas, to its lush stands of trees, to its peaceful prayer garden, and into its historic country chapel, a Wedding on the Mountain is truly a memory in the making.
Keep those memories alive, indoor and outdoor photo opportunities abound. The only limit is your imagination.
The Chapel
The Laurel Mountain historic country chapel is by far the favored venue of most couples. It combines country charm with traditional wedding chapel intimacy. Visualize yourself walking down its hardwood aisle, smiling as you pass your guests sit comfortably on the handcrafted oak pews. All the while, your wedding party waits by the beautifully decorated stage.
The wedding chapel seats about one hundred people.
The stage is large enough for a small band or orchestra, yet small enough that a party of four or five won’t get lost. The chapel also provides all the amenities available at a modern wedding venue, four season climate control, sound, and adjustable lighting. Parking is plentiful.
The chapel may be reserved 365 days a year on a first come, first served basis.
At the Foot of the Cross
For believers in Jesus, Calvary’s Crosses on the Mountain provides a memorable outdoor setting like no other. Make your grand entrance as your guests stand and you step towards the outdoor crosses profiled against the side of a grassy hill. You meet the minister in the shadow of the empty cross and your ceremony begins.
The symbolism is obvious and the scene dramatic. Your guests hear and see your testimony. There can be no doubt. All attending will know that the foundation of your marriage is your love for each other and your shared love for your Lord and Savior.
The landscaping enables you to design a personal wedding backdrop the way you want it, open air, arbors, flowers, or simply rely on the Crosses’ hardscape and grassy fields for beauty. Just like with the Chapel, design it the way you want. It’s your day and your lifetime memory.
At the Crosses of Calvary, you can comfortably seat a few hundred guests. Add a tent and Calvary’s Crosses on the Mountain becomes a three season venue.
Informal Venues
If you prefer a more casual wedding, consider a ceremony under our pavilion, perhaps in a field overlooking the valley, around a bonfire, under the wedding tree, or even in a clearing in the woods. The possibilities are endless.
An Officiant
Laurel Mountain Ministries believes that your choice of officiant adds to the special experience of your wedding. Laurel Mountain Ministries encourages pastors and judges who are authorized to perform marriages in Berks County, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, to join couples on the Mountain.
If you don’t have a pastor, Laurel Mountain Ministries can provide an experienced ordained clergyman to officiate your ceremony. Ask your wedding coordinator for details.
