The Chapel
The newly renovated Chapel on Laurel Mountain is a throwback to the small country churches of the early Twentieth Century. It is simple yet pleasantly elegant. It looks basic but has all the modern comforts and electronics. Most important, it feels like home.
Wedding Venue
The Chapel on Laurel Mountain is an ideal venue to host weddings. The Chapel seats about one hundred people in air-conditioned comfort. The stage is small enough for small wedding parties and large enough for live musicians to perform. Laurel Mountain Ministries can help you plan your wedding or work with your coordinator. Upon request, Laurel Mountain Ministries can provide music or clergy for your wedding.
Receptions
Hold your small reception in the Chapel Meeting Room or move outside under the Pavilion or catering tents for a larger affair. Either way, we can help you and your guests have a memorable day. More importantly, we work within your budget.
Memorials
Remembrances of loved ones are no longer confined to the funeral homes and gravesides. Families seek places to gather for the day to remember and find comfort together. The Chapel on Laurel Mountain is a perfect place for a memorial gathering. Families may start in the Chapel for a memorial and then move outdoor for food and sharing.
Conferences & Special Services
If your church or organization is seeking a place to hold a small conference or special meeting, you found it on the mountain. Either use the Chapel, set up a tent(s), or use the meeting room. Whatever your choice(s), the Laurel Mountain Ministries Campus and staff are waiting to help.
The Prayer Garden
The Prayer Garden is open to the public from late Spring through early Fall. Set on the edge of the woods, its beauty and peace is the perfect place to spend time with God. Read your Bible or kneel in front of the stone benches to pray. Either way, “they that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength.” The prayer garden opens at dawn and closes at dusk. There is never any cost to enter the prayer garden.
Baptismal Pool
The unique Laurel Mountain in-ground baptismal pool is cross-shaped and is extensively landscaped to provide memorable and life-changing experiences in water baptism in accordance with Romans Chapter 6. Pastors may bring groups or individuals for baptism. There is never a charge to use the baptismal pool. However, reservations are required because of liability and pool preparation. Call Gail at (484) 366-7041 or email her at info@laurelmountainministries.org for more information or to reserve a time.
The Crosses of Calvary on the Mountain
One of the most unique features of the mountain is the Crosses of Calvary. The Crosses display is matchless. It is better experienced than described. At the display, you can lay your burdens at the foot of the cross and wait for the Lord to speak to your heart and confirm the answers to your prayers. Visiting the Crosses of Calvary is always free.
Wedding Venue
The base of Crosses of Calvary on the Mountain is wonderful location to hold an outdoor wedding. For a young couple of faith, what is more life affirming that an empty cross in the background when starting down the path of marriage together?
Photographs
The Crosses of Calvary is a favorite of photographers. If you take shots of the Crosses, your family at the foot of the crosses, and then share them with us. They could become part of this website or be found on our Facebook page!
Picnicking
It’s always fun to picnic. The Laurel Mountain Ministries Campus has a pavilion to picnic under and, also has tables scattered among the groves of trees for your relaxation. Free picnicking is available most days. To reserve the entire picnic area for an entire day which includes the Disc Golf Course and the Sand Volley Court, call or email Gail at the numbers above. A love gift is requested when reserving the entire picnic area.
Disc Golf Course
Disc Golf is a popular family sport. We maintain a nine-hole course on the Mountain. The standards are portable and sometimes get moved for variety or if an event is planned.
We love disc golf tournaments! Call or email Gail at the number above if you plan a disc golf takeover. Individuals and small groups may play disc golf at no cost from dusk to dawn weather permitting. A love gift is required for a disc golf takeover.
Sand Volleyball Court
Volleyball is a game in which everyone can participate. Laurel Mountain Ministries recently restored its old volleyball court near the picnic area. Groups can play for fun while they picnic or at outdoor family events. In 2022, you and your church team can join us for a league or a tournament.
Coming Soon!
We are constantly improving the Laurel Mountain Campus to better serve regional churches and the local community. New projects are planned. If you are lead, please help financially. A gift for a particular project will be held exclusively for that project.
