Sonrise Over Laurel Mountain: An Outdoor Community Easter Sunrise Service
Join the community for Sonrise Over Laurel Mountain, an outdoor Easter Sunrise Service celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The service begins at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 5, 2026, on Laurel Mountain in Boyertown. The will end promptly at 8:00 a.m. so those attending can attend services at their home church.
Each year, people of all ages and backgrounds gather under the empty Crosses of Calvary as the sun rises over the surrounding hills. The setting is simple, reverent, and centered on worship, prayer, and the hope of resurrection morning.
This interdenominational service is now in its sixth year. Laurel Mountain Ministries began the gathering in the years following the COVID pandemic to create a place for the wider community to worship together. The ministry serves both church and community by creating space beyond traditional church walls.
Every effort will be made to hold the service outdoors. Worship this year will be acoustic, with portable, weather-resistant sound in case of wet weather. As long as people standing on the lawn beneath the Crosses remains dry, the service will stay outside.
This year’s message, “While the Stone Was Still Cold,” will be delivered by Rev. David Johnson, Co-Founder and Director of Ministry of the Ministry. Worship will be led by the acoustic worship section of the award-winning Heaven’s Thunder Band, under the direction of Mark Malizzi, Executive Director of Laurel Mountain Ministries.
This is a community gathering. All are welcome.
There is no cost to attend.
