DESCRIPTION:The American Heritage Come to the Mountain\nThe AMERICAN HERITAGE GIRLS come to the Mountain for a pancake breakfast\, a new member welcoming ceremony in the Campus Chapel\, and an opportunity to earn a flag merit badge with our 40 foot flag pole and giant United States flag. This is a rain or shine event. Attendees are limited to the families and invitees of the girls. \n \nChanging Girls’ Lives and Leading Them Towards a More Christ-Centered Life.\nAmerican Heritage Girls (AHG) was founded by a group of parents wanting a faith-based\, scout-type character development program for their daughters in 1995. The AHG Program is dedicated to the mission of building women of integrity through service to God\, family\, community and country. AHG girls across the nation and the globe participate in badge programs\, service projects\, leadership opportunities\, and outdoor experiences\, all with an emphasis on Christian values and family involvement. \nToday there are Troops in every state and in 15 countries around the world through the Trailblazer Membership. A variety of Christian denominations are also represented as Charter Organizations for Troops. There are thousands of volunteer members across the country helping girls to grow in their faith\, cultivate a heart for service\, enjoy the great outdoors\, and have more fun than they can imagine!

Over three lively days\, Scouts will dive into a range of exciting activities designed to enrich their outdoors experience—all with a healthy dose of delicious picnic fare\, of course. \nWhat to Expect\nBadge Earning Galore: Inspired by the tradition of Girl Scouts earning badges through hands-on challenges\, Scouts will have the opportunity to pursue a variety of outdoor‑themed badges—think nature discovery\, teamwork\, and more \nPicnic Time: No Girl Scout event is complete without food! Expect spread‑the‑blanket moments filled with sandwiches\, fresh fruits\, snacks\, and sweet treats under the open sky—perfect for building friendships and fueling up for adventures. \nBeach Volleyball & Disc Golf: Two great ways to get active! Whether you’re being baptized or coming to support someone who is\, this will be a moment of eternal significance. \n \nWe’ll gather at our striking cross-shaped baptismal pool\, surrounded by God’s creation and a community of believers\, to witness lives being transformed by the love of Christ. This is more than a ceremony—it’s a testimony to resurrection power and the goodness of God. \nWhy Baptism?\nJesus commanded His followers to be baptized\, not as a formality\, but as a visible witness of an invisible transformation. Baptism does not save\, but it boldly declares what has already taken place in the heart: repentance\, faith\, and new life in Christ. \n \nAt Laurel Mountain\, we baptize by immersion—believing this best represents the biblical model. As participants go under the water\, they identify with Jesus’ death and burial; as they rise again\, they testify to His resurrection and their own rebirth. It is a picture of grace\, a step of obedience\, and a beautiful act of worship. \nWhat to Expect and How to Prepare\nIf you feel led to be baptized\, we invite you to prepare your heart and register in advance. On the day of the event\, please arrive by 12:45 PM at the pavilion for orientation and prayer. Wear modest swimwear under clothes you don’t mind getting wet\, and bring a towel and a change of clothes. \n \nWe’ve created a helpful guide for spiritual and practical preparation.
