SUMMARY:Spring Clean Up on the Mountain
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a day of service and fellowship as we prepare the beautiful Laurel Mountain Ministries Campus for the upcoming summer ministry season! For Spring Clean Up on the Mountain\, we’re calling on volunteers to help us clean up the grounds and get everything ready for the months ahead. Winter can leave behind fallen branches\, scattered leaves\, rocks\, and a lot of debris\, and we need your help to restore the campus to its best. \nTasks will include clearing fallen branches\, raking up leaves\, removing rocks from pathways\, and mtouching up areas with fresh paint. We’ll also focus on general outdoor maintenance to ensure everything is clean\, safe\, and welcoming for our guests this summer. \nWhether you’re a seasoned volunteer or new to the community\, your efforts will make a huge difference in getting the space ready for all the exciting ministry activities ahead. It’s a great opportunity to meet others\, enjoy the fresh spring air\, and contribute to the beauty of our campus. \nBring your gloves\, a hat\, and a heart full of service! A light lunch will be provided\, and we’ll work in teams to tackle different areas of the property. \nCome when you can and leave when you must. Over three lively days\, Scouts will dive into a range of exciting activities designed to enrich their outdoors experience—all with a healthy dose of delicious picnic fare\, of course. \nWhat to Expect\nBadge Earning Galore: Inspired by the tradition of Girl Scouts earning badges through hands-on challenges\, Scouts will have the opportunity to pursue a variety of outdoor‑themed badges—think nature discovery\, teamwork\, and more \nPicnic Time: No Girl Scout event is complete without food! Expect spread‑the‑blanket moments filled with sandwiches\, fresh fruits\, snacks\, and sweet treats under the open sky—perfect for building friendships and fueling up for adventures. \nBeach Volleyball & Disc Golf: Two great ways to get active! Whether bumping\, setting\, and spiking a volleyball\, or tossing discs through a wooded course\, girls will develop coordination\, teamwork\, and a sense of friendly competition. \nNature Walk through the Woods: Guided hikes will help Scouts explore the mountain’s natural beauty—spending time outdoors supports well‑being and confidence\, just like the Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors Challenge encourages—120 minutes a week in nature is tied to improved mood and focus. \nThroughout the weekend\, Scouts will move at their own pace and select activities that spark their curiosity—empowering them in true Girl Scout fashion. Whether mastering a new badge\, scoring a volleyball\, or soaking in forest sights and sounds\, this event gives them space to grow courage\, confidence\, and character (the Girl Scout mission in action!)
